{"id":41111,"date":"2023-01-25T13:42:15","date_gmt":"2023-01-25T21:42:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.springboard.com\/blog\/?p=41111"},"modified":"2023-03-10T12:15:36","modified_gmt":"2023-03-10T20:15:36","slug":"10-tech-companies-hiring","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.springboard.com\/blog\/news\/10-tech-companies-hiring\/","title":{"rendered":"10 Tech Companies That Are Still Hiring Right Now"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>With the tech industry reeling from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/tech-layoffs-are-happening-faster-than-at-any-time-during-the-pandemic-11672705089\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fastest rate<\/a> of redundancies since the pandemic began, many are wondering what this means for skilled professions once deemed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalknowledge.com\/us-en\/resources\/resource-library\/articles\/top-10-recession-proof-it-jobs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201crecession-proof.\u201d<\/a> An average of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/tech-workers-laid-off-every-day-january-recession-downturn-2023-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">1,600 tech<\/a> positions have been eliminated every day in 2023 so far, per Layoffs.fyi, as tech companies course-correct in a post-pandemic world.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As lockdowns eased and people returned to their offices, schools, and social lives, the PC shortage ended, athleisure wear <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fastcompany.com\/90666912\/the-best-clothing-brands-for-a-workleisure-wardrobe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">morphed into<\/a> office-friendly \u201cworkleisure,\u201d and Facebook usage dropped precipitously.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite making drastic cuts, tech companies are still <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/11\/10\/tech\/tech-layoffs-analysis\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">larger<\/a> than they were pre-pandemic. Folks typically consider FAANGs a health indicator for the overall tech industry, given their sheer size and market power, but the broader labor market is still <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/tech-layoffs-are-happening-faster-than-at-any-time-during-the-pandemic-11672705089\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">outperforming expectations<\/a>, and laid-off workers are finding new jobs quickly.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Other industries are luring workers away from tech companies<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>About 79% of workers recently hired after a tech-company layoff or termination landed their new job within three months of starting their search, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/laid-off-tech-workers-quickly-find-new-jobs-11672097730?mod=article_inline\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according to a ZipRecruiter survey<\/a> of new hires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What\u2019s more, sectors that once struggled to lure tech talent away from cash-flush FAANGs are clamoring for workers with skills in data science, software engineering, UX design, and more. Here are some examples of sectors that are currently hiring:<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>E-commerce solutions providers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Climate technology<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Logistics and supply chain operations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Healthcare<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Finance and insurance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cybersecurity infrastructure<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Marijuana startups (in states where medicinal\/recreational marijuana is legal)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hospitality and travel<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Information technology<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Aerospace and defense<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Management consulting&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In November, there were 35,132 tech job postings in the finance and insurance sector alone, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.comptia.org\/content\/tech-jobs-report\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CompTIA\u2019s analysis<\/a> of the US Bureau of Labor Statistics jobs report released on Dec 2. Meanwhile, the green-tech sector is seeing increased government funding and demand for workers who can build climate change solutions, and is<a href=\"https:\/\/www.protocol.com\/climate\/tech-workers-quitting-climate-jobs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> eager <\/a>to recruit laid-off tech workers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is an opportunity for those industries that have traditionally lagged behind in digital transformation and cybersecurity, to hire talent at a level they may not have been able to before when the tech industry was gobbling them up,\u201d Simone Petrella, CEO of CyberVista, a cybersecurity training and development company, told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2022\/12\/13\/laid-off-tech-workers-are-being-wooed-by-the-federal-government.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNBC<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is a list of 10 companies that are still hiring tech workers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. However, the job cuts are fewer than the 4,000 or so new roles added in the past year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur tech organization is actively recruiting for a range of positions, including engineering roles focused on cloud, data, machine learning, and cybersecurity, as well as product managers,\u201d a Capital One spokesman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theregister.com\/2023\/01\/20\/capital_one\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told The Register<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. The firm has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indeed.com\/jobs?q=tech&amp;l=United+States&amp;sc=0kf%3Afcckey%28df7a4d6c69261d7d%29%3B&amp;pp=gQAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAB9hzTtAADAAABAAA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">3,574 job openings<\/a> on Indeed for software developers, QA automation testers, machine learning engineers, UX researchers, Salesforce developers, systems administrators, AWS cloud engineers, and more.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. The company currently has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/jobs\/search\/?currentJobId=3445187207&amp;f_C=1905&amp;f_F=it%2Ceng%2Cprjm&amp;keywords=general%20dynamics&amp;sortBy=R\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">1,181 open roles<\/a> in tech on LinkedIn.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GDIT recently<a href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.cisco.com\/c\/r\/newsroom\/en\/us\/a\/y2022\/m06\/cisco-joins-forces-with-gdit-to-deliver-private-5g-to-government-agencies.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> expanded<\/a> its partnership with Cisco to provide government agencies with 5G solutions for IoT and edge use cases and to drive digital transformation in government.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6. Many of these roles are earmarked as \u2018Early Career\u2019 or entry-level positions for recent college graduates.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company is building<a href=\"https:\/\/spacenews.com\/lockheed-martin-eyes-international-customers-for-gps-augmentation-systems\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> GPS 3 satellites<\/a>, which are used to enhance the accuracy of existing GPS systems.
