Data Science Bootcamps in Los Angeles, CA
Just a few hundred miles south of Silicon Valley, Los Angeles has its own flourishing tech scene, anchored by Snap in Venice and Hulu in Santa Monica. The former was a game-changer, finally giving Los Angeles a major, homegrown IPO and cementing its place as a hub for innovation.
Sometimes referred to as Silicon Beach, the region also is home to Headspace, The Honest Company, and Virgin Hyperloop One. Other major technology companies that have a high-profile presence in the area include Google (and its YouTube Space), Facebook, Netflix, and Buzzfeed.
The startup scene is large and still growing. It’s the third largest startup hub, behind the Bay Area and New York City, in part because there are so many engineering school graduates. With entrepreneurs, funding, and the necessary talent pool, startups throughout Southern California have been growing their data science teams in recent years.
Big Data Day LA began in 2013 with about 250 attendees, swelling to more than 1,500 in 2017. And the city of Los Angeles is working to solve some of its toughest problems using data science. The Data Science Federation, a partnership between the city and local schools, promotes data-driven decision-making so officials can address social, economic, and policy issues more effectively.
